happy 2011 to all who may stop by here!!
she often comments on my photos,
and i'm always appreciative when she does.
oh, my!
i love it...
and i found it to be perfect for what i wanted to say
in my first post of 2011, especially when i read the caption.
it says,
"there's no looking back"
and because you probably can't read it here,
i'll tell you what is written on the piece of paper
that is in the subject's hand behind her back.
one word...
"regret"
goodbye regrets!
in my case, i don't mind looking back
at least on the good parts of 2010.
i had some extremely difficult days throughout.
but i also had some of the best days...
most of all, the day i found out i am going to be a mom for the first time!
but i still love the theme of this shot.
{and not just that, but the mood and beauty.}
i get what she means.
it's 2011!
it's a new year...
full of hope
and possibility
and expectations
and anticipation
and any other good thing
you or i choose to fill it with..
yes, it's full of the unknown
and many uncertainties, as well.
but those can be good things.
hopefully, it's full of change,
because i believe at least a little change
is good for us all.
and hopefully it remains full of the familiar, too.
no matter what,
let's look forward with joy!
with faith.
and with belief.
with strength... which will be my word for 2011.

new year!

{oh, and speaking of flickr photos, i put together a set of all the favorite shots i took over 2010 on my flickr page. below is a mosaic of some of those shots...

you can see the entire set here, where you can also click on individual pictures to see them larger. because i have a photography blog, i created a flickr account to organize my photos. and for my look back at 2010 post on my photo blog, i created a set with all my favorite shots. feel free to browse. i'm looking forward to taking many more in 2011... and hopefully improving artistically to the point where i can take creative photos like the one at the beginning of this post!!}

I have a newsflash: your photos are already creative! Hehehe. That photo is amazing. I plan to really take it up a notch this year! I've taken some photos I'm proud of but far too few of them. Need to change that this year! :P Happy New Year Georgia!
What a lovely post, Georgia and I'm so flattered that you featured my photo. It's a self portrait taken for Picture the Holidays. I thought you might like to read the full caption I posted in the classroom gallery: "I am walking away from worry, doubt, indecision, blame, disappointment and regret. (Each word written on a card.) I won't be able to escape them all the time, but I don't have to carry them with me." Here's to starting off 2011 with a clean slate and heart full of joy. Thank you again. Angie D.
oh, now i like it even more!!
thanks for letting me know, angie.
p.s.
my twin sister's name is angie!
well, angela, but i call her angie sometimes.
and sometimes gigi.
oh, and thank you, sweet lisa. nice of you to say!
happy new year to you!
I love this photo as well. And the thought of walking away from regrets. Wonderful!!
Again, Happy New Year hun and God bless
Hugs
SueAnn
